Even though ophthalmic research is not so common in Research, Education and Clinical work in our field, it has always provided cutting-edge medical care and technique such as corneal transplantation and retinal regenerative medicine from iPS cells. And due to aging society of Japan, ophthalmic research is becoming more importance in not only doctor and nurse but pharmacist. For the purpose of this symposium is to provide the state of the art in “Age-related changes in eye function and preventive ways” from Prof. Hara Hideaki (Gifu Pharmaceutical University, key word; senescence), Prof. Kubo Eri (Kanazawa Medical University, key word; lens), Prof. Hosoya Ken-ichi (Toyama University, key word; retina), Dr. Morishita Hideaki (Tokyo University / Juntendo Medical University, key word; autophagy), and Prof. Nabe Takeshi (Setsunan University, key word; allergy). Thus, the aim of this symposium is to update ophthalmic studies in the pharmacy, and the five professional researchers will present the latest topics for ophthalmic field.
