Development of a selective EP2 receptor agonist, omidenepag isopropyl ophthalmic solution

The healthcare environment in Japan is changing dramatically as we face a super-aged society. Morbidity of lots of ocular diseases are known to increase with aging. Vision accounts for a major portion of the information received by sensory organs in our daily lives, and visual function plays an extremely important role in maintaining and improving quality of life (QOL) and extending healthy life expectancy in the current information society. Against this background, there is a growing need to establish new preventive and therapeutic methods as well as early diagnostic techniques for various ocular diseases. In this symposium, up-and-coming researchers who are focusing their research on the eye will present their latest research, including research to reveal the pathogenesis of ocular diseases, applied research to develop new therapy for ocular diseases and research on drug delivery systems (DDS) aimed at improving the efficiency of drug delivery into the retina. We would like to provide useful knowledge for research not only in eye disease but also in other fields. In addition, we would like to give opportunities to experience mystery of the science of the eye, one of the smallest organs in the entire body.
