Recently, pharmaceutical physical chemistry plays an important role in pharmaceutical sciences, including the development of new technologies and the elucidation of biological phenomena. Many researchers in physical pharmaceutical sciences are active in various fields such as basic research, drug discovery and clinical analysis. In this symposium, young researchers give lectures on current physical pharmaceutical sciences and discuss the future of this academic discipline. Physical pharmaceutical sciences include experimental, theoretical, and computational sciences, and they form the basis of all pharmaceutical sciences. Four lectures by young researchers of various fields of physical pharmaceutical sciences, including two lectures by the winners of the Award for Young Scientists of the Division of Physical Sciences of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan 2022, are held in this symposium. We have prepared lectures on a variety of fields, including radiochemistry, analytical chemistry, computational chemistry, and structural biology, and we also plan to have those lectures on both basic and applied sciences. We would like to use this opportunity to convey the appeal of physical pharmaceutical sciences.
