Sat. Mar 26, 2022 12:30 AM - 2:30 AM UTC
[Room Q] Shirotori Hall (North) Bldg. 4: 1F
Organizer: Takayoshi Awakawa (Grad. Sch. Pharm., The Univ. of Tokyo)
Recently, tremendous technological innovations related to life science have led to diverse new-generation-studies and a paradigm shift in various medicinal research fields. This innovation substantially changed research style of biosynthetic study and natural product discovery. The new starting point is "genome". In this background, natural products research is advancing from simply exploiting beneficial natural products, to designing new biosynthetic enzyme machinery for producing unnatural compounds. The cutting-edge researches in the natural product biosynthetic field have attracted the interest of pharmaceutical companies, and natural products have once again been revived as a key player of drug discovery scene. In this symposium, the five authorized Japanese scientists, whose backgrounds are natural product biosynthesis, metabolome, structural biology, and mechanistic enzymology, will present their original researches with their unique concepts on natural product-based drug development. We welcome a wide range of academic and industrial scientists in pharmaceutical sciences to discuss multiple perspectives on creating a roadmap for drug seed development with future biomolecule redesign.
