The tide of digital transformation is bringing about a transformation in the structure and concept of healthcare. Smartphones and PCs have become a part of our daily lives, and we live in an age where digital natives, who can use social networking services as if they were breathing, and can take in information from around the world without any time lag, are supporting society. On the other hand, as exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we should admit that our country's response to the digital revolution is far from advanced. What about the world of pharmaceutical Sciences? Digital technology is permeating every aspect of drug discovery and clinical practice, but how far has it progressed and how will it progress in the future? The Board of Directors of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan (PSJ) would like to share its vision with our members. In this symposium, we invite leading figures who are promoting digital innovation at the forefront of drug discovery, medical care, and administration to give lectures on the actual status of digital technology in pharmaceutical research in a wide range of areas, and take this as an opportunity to start discussions with you on the future vision of pharmaceutical science.
