[OS03]Cutting Edge of Environmental Pollution Research: Disseminating SDGs Research

Tue. Mar 28, 2023 10:10 AM - 12:10 PM JST
Tue. Mar 28, 2023 1:10 AM - 3:10 AM UTC
[Room G1] Conference Hall 2F
Organizer: Mayumi Ishizuka, Hiroyuki Kojima
Chemicals have enriched human society and made our lives more convenient. However, chemicals are now widely spread and every place on earth, including polar regions such as Antarctica and the North Pole, is now contaminated with man-made chemicals. Environmental pollution has taken a toll on the "health" of humans, animals, societies, and ecosystems. More than 9 million deaths are reported annually due to air pollution, and environmental pollutants have been shown to exacerbate a variety of diseases, including lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. In order to realize a sustainable society, we need to once again review the impact of environmental pollution on "health. In this symposium, researchers working at the cutting edge will introduce how the environment and living organisms are contaminated by plastics, and Hokkaido-based researchers working on the issues of environmental pollution and health will present their latest research findings.
