A study on the effect of an amide-to-ester substitution on the structure and permeability of cyclic peptides

In recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on the development of bioactive molecules based on the manipulation of conformations of "molecules," including small molecules, peptides, nucleic acids, and even proteins. This approach not only enables the precise design of bioactive molecules and fine-tuning of their properties but also holds the potential to generate novel concepts of bioactivity and mechanisms of action; therefore it is expected to pioneer a new paradigm in drug discovery.<br />In this symposium, titled "Conformational Pharmaceutical Science - Observing, Understanding, and Manipulating Molecular Conformations," we have invited five pioneering researchers from diverse fields to present their innovative research in a wide range of areas, encompassing conformational manipulation (manipulating), analysis of properties associated with conformations (understanding), and structural analysis techniques (observing) of various "molecules." Our symposiasts span not only the pharmaceutical sciences but also diverse interdisciplinary fields, and we hope to foster the heterogeneous community of researchers focusing on conformational pharmaceutical sciences including the audience.
