Developing an AI-based platform for multi-individual tracking to comprehensively understand cannibalism

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly bringing significant changes in our research activities. Its use is not only limited to the prediction of protein structures, which became popular with the advent of AlfaFold.At this symposium, we will invite researchers from diverse fields to give lectures on the practical application of AI, ranging from their overall research activities to specific experiments. First, Dr. Kentaro Matsui will discuss the use of generative AI, such as large-scale language models, in general activities in research. Next, Dr. Nobuyoshi Matsumoto will present on AI-based classification of neural activity, Dr. Kunio Kawanishi on AI-assisted analysis of pathological images, and Dr. Kosuke Kataoka on the development of an AI-based system for analyzing the behavior of multiple animals. We hope this symposium will provide attendees with valuable insights into how to incorporate AI into their own research.
