Visualizing Concentration Gradients of Signaling Molecules from Nano- to Microscale using Fluorescence Lifetime Biosensors

Understanding the complex mechanisms that regulate physiological functions requires the integration of diverse perspectives and advanced technologies. In particular, gaining a comprehensive view of biological processes &mdash; from molecules and cells to the behavior of whole organisms &mdash; calls for the collaboration of researchers with expertise across different fields. This symposium will feature cutting-edge studies from a range of technical areas, including in vitro electrophysiology, in vivo imaging and optogenetic manipulation of neural activity during behavior, visualization and control of intracellular environments using novel probes, real-time imaging of intracellular signaling dynamics with FRET/BRET techniques, and large-scale data analysis utilizing AI. Through these presentations, we will provide a platform for interdisciplinary discussions and to explore new directions for the future of physiological research, with an eye toward the integration of these diverse approaches.
