Neurons that whisper to tumors: PVN-driven stress signaling bridging anxiety, pain, and cancer progression

Various stresses affect neural circuits, but the mechanism by which the peripheral and central nervous systems respond to stress remains unknown. This time, five speakers will discuss the verification of the peripheral-central nervous system, modified by various stresses from different angles. They will talk about the cellular analysis of changes in the central nervous system caused by pain in fibromyalgia, the mechanism of heart rate reduction via the vagus nerve system through repeated learning, the relationship between vagus nerve activity and the central nervous system due to stress, and the analysis of the dynamics of brain neural circuits of sensory stress caused by hearing and olfaction. In addition, this symposium actively featured three female researchers from other societies and young researchers, including graduate students, from the Physiological Society of Japan, and aims to collaborate with other institutions and to nurture young researchers.
