観光産業は宿泊・小売など多数の比較的小規模な地域企業と、鉄道・航空など少数の大企業で構成される。事業者は多様なニーズに合わせて差別化されたサービスを提供しており、旅行者も予算や嗜好に合わせてサービスを選択できる状態を受け入れている。こうした観光産業の独占的競争型市場構造は、少数のデータジャイアント企業が画一的なサービスを提供する情報サービス産業とは異なっており、データジャイアント企業は旅行者のニーズの全てには応じきれないと考えられる。それゆえ、旅行者のニーズに応えるには、地域企業がAIを利用した観光情報サービスを提供できる仕組みが重要となる。本セッションでは、地域における観光情報サービス開発の課題と解決策について、IoTなどデータ流通の視点を含めて議論する。
