In Japan’s professional basketball league, the B.LEAGUE, teams often play back-to-back games against the same opponent on weekends, typically on Saturday and Sunday. In such consecutive games, the playing time in the first game may affect a player’s condition and performance in the second game. In particular, players who play for a long time on the previous day may experience a decline in shooting accuracy or an increase in turnovers in the later stages of the following day’s game. However, few studies have quantitatively examined the effects of such fatigue using individual game statistics. Therefore, this study aims to clarify the effect of playing time on the previous day on player performance in the following day’s game, focusing on weekend back-to-back games in the B.LEAGUE.
