To meet the steadily increasing demand for optical communications, there is a growing need to expand the capacity in the optical fiber cable market. In addition, optical fiber cables installed in aerial sections are subject to vibration caused by wind and other factors, making it necessary to suppress the movement of fibers within the cable. To address these issues, we have developed a low-loss, high-density aerial optical fiber cable. This paper reports on its cable structure and characteristics.
