In 6G networks, the seamless integration of non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) and terrestrial networks (TNs) has become a critical challenge. To address this challenge, we at NICT are advancing the research and development of an integrated network control architecture (INCA) that enables end-to-end (E2E) service orchestration, performance monitoring, and resource control of both TN and NTN segments. This paper introduces the latest progress in the functional and interface design of INCA, along with a TN–NTN integrated experimental system implemented on NICT’s Beyond 5G (B5G) Testbed. INCA is based on ITU-T Recommendation Y.3207 [3] standards.
