Antennas for shoe-mounted wearable devices operate in close proximity to high-permittivity objects such as the human body and the ground, which degrades their radiation characteristics. In this study, the radiation characteristics of a half cylindrical cavity-backed slot antenna made of conductive textiles were evaluated in an environment sandwiched between dielectric materials representing the human body and the ground. Measurement results showed that the proposed antenna exhibited no significant degradation in radiation characteristics near the dielectric materials, demonstrating its suitability for shoe-mounted wearable devices.
