A wide-elevation-angle antenna for low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications has previously been proposed, combining a TM_11-mode microstrip antenna (MSA) with a TM_21-mode annular MSA. In this study, to experimentally validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, the zenith gain and axial ratio characteristics were investigated and enhanced over a wide angular range in 2.3 GHz band.
