In this study, a dielectric lens with an ideal permittivity distribution was designed to improve the transmission characteristics of 2.4-GHz spatial wireless power transfer. The transmission characteristics were evaluated by electromagnetic field analysis using HFSS when the designed lens was inserted between the transmitting and receiving antennas. The results showed that the dielectric lens controlled the electromagnetic field distribution and improved the wireless power transfer efficiency calculated from the kQ product.
