A nationwide deployment of drone base stations at ten sites has been completed to ensure communications during disasters. In drone base stations, the antenna mounting position affects the radiation characteristics due to the airframe and landing gear. Although mounting antennas beneath the airframe is effective in reducing blockage, it involves the risk of ground contact during takeoff and landing and imposes constraints on the available installation space. In this paper, antenna units are distributed on the side surfaces of a drone, and different signals are fed to the left and right antenna units. The results show that this configuration suppresses nulls caused by interference and improves the uniformity of the horizontal-plane radiation pattern.
