One of the major obstacles to the widespread adoption of 5G 28-GHz technology is the extremely high cost of building measurement environments essential for device development. To address this issue, the authors have previously proposed a near-field antenna measurement method that utilizes a low-cost, compact Software Defined Radio (SDR) instead of an expensive Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), which was conventionally required for phase distribution acquisition. Its basic usefulness was demonstrated through measurements of a standard gain horn antenna. In this paper, we present measurement results using a more complex 16-element array antenna as the Antenna Under Test (AUT) to verify the versatility and scalability of the proposed system for millimeter-wave antenna evaluation.
