This study investigates area estimation of forest-cleared regions associated with solar power plant construction using optical and SAR satellite imagery. Land-cover changes were extracted from Landsat images based on NDVI, and the estimated areas were evaluated by comparison with reference polygons created through visual interpretation. In addition, temporal changes in VV, VH, and RFDI derived from Sentinel-1 images were examined to evaluate the potential of SAR data as complementary information for optical-image-based extraction.
