An experimental radio station license was obtained for a radio-emitting equipment, and an electromagnetic interference (EMI) investigation was conducted on medical electrical equipment installed in an operating room without the use of a shielded tent. The characteristics of the observed EMI were similar to those found in movable medical electrical equipment. Furthermore, no separation distance exceeding the 1 m recommended by the guidelines of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Conference Japan was identified at which the EMI disappeared.
