The authors are engaged in research on spatial acoustic communication networks that construct area-wide communication coverage using underwater acoustic communication to provide various wireless communication services. One of the envisaged use cases is a diver-oriented device capable of acoustic communication. However, stable acoustic communication must be ensured under practical conditions, including the effects of device characteristics and diver attachment. We report the results of communication stability tests conducted in a spatial acoustic communication environment under practical conditions where divers are equipped with underwater transceivers.
