Advanced V2X communication requires the low-latency, highly reliable transmission of safety-critical information—supporting applications such as autonomous driving and cooperative driving—even when vehicles are obstructed from one another. While redundant transmission effectively enhances reliability, it consumes wireless bandwidth. In this study, we estimate metrics such as the Block Error Rate (BLER) based on factors like base station deployment conditions and propagation environments specific to different Radio Access Technologies (RATs), and we evaluate the application of a Best Channel First (BCF) multi-RAT ARQ scheme. We also evaluate the reliability and latency characteristics of V2X ARQ communication without redundant transmission, taking into account the probability of Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOSv) conditions based on vehicle density.
