SmartNICs supporting RoCEv2 (RDMA over Converged Ethernet version 2), which bypasses the kernel, offer hardware timestamping functionality (RoCE Timestamp). Although functions such as SO_TIMESTAMPING are available in Linux, they capture timestamps (TS) when passing through the kernel, which differs from RoCE Timestamping features. For the measurement of one-way delay using RoCE Timestamping, this paper evaluates its basic features, including the time source and timestamp retrieval overhead, and reports the verification results.
