Near-field (NF) line-of-sight (LoS) MIMO enables high spatial multiplexing gains but requires efficient channel acquisition to remain practical. This paper provides a concise overview of geometry-based channel acquisition methods that exploit the low-dimensional structure of NF LoS channels to reduce pilot overhead, feedback signaling, and computational complexity. We summarize complementary uplink- and downlink-assisted estimation strategies for accurate CSI reconstruction under practical constraints, including noisy observations, quantized feedback, and asymmetric antenna configurations. The presented framework demonstrates the potential of geometry-aware channel acquisition for scalable NF LoS MIMO systems.
