Most fundamental objective of an academic paper is to persuade its readers to accept the paper's thesis statement by providing the logical steps that lead the thesis statements. An academic writing skill, unfortunately, cannot be accomplished in a short time. It requires continuous study as well as guidance from an expert of academic writing. This lecture aims to help authors by suggesting some of practical writing tips provided by the (previous) members of the editorial boards; including the
current Editor-in-Chief, IEICE Transactions of Communications. As writing skills cannot be accomplished overnight, we believe the continuous provision of the lecture would help the members
