As a microwave rectifier, a rectifier (RF-DC conversion) that has a time-reversal dual (TR-Dual) relationship with an amplifier (DC-RF conversion) is promising (Figure 1). Ideally, this amplifier and rectifier exhibit the same power conversion efficiency. However, in an amplifier, the RF input directly drives the gate, whereas in a TR-Dual rectifier, the RF input from the drain drives the gate via Cgd. This paper discusses the importance of designing TR-Dual rectifiers considering this difference in driving mechanism.
