A circular waveguide polarizer is one of the waveguide components used in antenna feed systems. We have previously reported on periodically variable ridge type and elliptical corrugated type consisting of sinusoidally tapered outer conductor. Here, we propose a new circular waveguide polarizer that combines the structures of both in order to achieve both improved axial ratio characteristics and improved reflection characteristics, and we report on the prototype evaluation fabricated using a 3D printer.
