The use of n-dodecane often leads to third-phase formation. To overcome this issue, fluorinated solvents have been introduced as alternatives to n-dodecane. However, long-chain extractants exhibit poor solubility in fluorinated solvents. Therefore, a series of short-chain extractants was synthesized and evaluated in fluorinated solvents. Their extraction performance and underlying mechanisms were investigated to demonstrate their applicability in such solvent systems.
