The proposed project outlines the development of a new planetarium in the Seine Saint Denis department, located just northeast of Paris, designed to serve as a focal point for astronomy outreach, arts science integration, and social inclusion in an urban and diverse environment. Recognising the dual challenges of increasing science literacy and fostering access to cultural infrastructure in underserved communities, this initiative brings together municipal authorities, educational institutions, local cultural organisations and technology partners to create a versatile facility. The planetarium will feature a full dome immersive projection system, interactive exhibitions tailored for school and family audiences, and outreach programmes targeting non-traditional learners. Emphasis is placed on inclusive design (accessibility for persons with disabilities, multilingual content, community cocreation) and on establishing partnerships with local schools and community groups. Drawing on case studies of contemporary planetariums and best practices in science communication, the project presents a phased plan for architectural development, technical specification, content creation and evaluation of visitor experience and educational impact. The ultimate aim is to transform the site into a vibrant hub where astronomy inspires curiosity, fosters local pride and strengthens social cohesion. With the planetarium as a catalyst, the project contributes to the mission of planetarium professionals worldwide: advancing science literacy, arts and humanities awareness, innovation and partnership.
