This paper presents a verification of educational effectiveness using the table top planetarium named amaterasu that we developed for the university students. Conducting astronomical observations at school is difficult. So, many educational practices using educational equipment such as public planetarium, planetarium software and tabletop planetarium. However, development of educational equipment with high educational effectiveness remains controversial. Amaterasu that we developed consists of small stellar ball and geodesic half dome. amaterasu present color of stars, stars up to the fourth magnitude, the milky way, and diurnal motion. The introduction of the half-dome is characterized by its ability to allow a large number of students to operate it simultaneously. Educational practices using amaterasu were performed on colleges of teacher-training course, teacher license renewal course, and elementary school. However, the educational effectiveness has not been sufficiently verified. In this paper, we report the educational effectiveness targeting university students through quantitative and qualitative research.
