[SP-JP1-04]Visualizing Space Weather: Outreach Activities Using the “Dagik Earth” Digital Globe for NICT’s Space Weather Forecasting

国立研究開発法人情報通信研究機構
Space weather, caused by solar activity, affects satellites, radio communications, navigation systems, and other technologies essential to modern society. However, many space weather phenomena are invisible and difficult for non-experts to understand.

At this booth, the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) demonstrates how space weather forecasting is visualized using the digital globe “Dagik Earth” and short explanatory videos. The digital globe provides an intuitive, dynamic 3D representation of the Sun–Earth system, allowing visitors to freely rotate and explore the view. Complementary videos and animations present easy-to-understand explanations of temporal variations in space weather phenomena and their impacts on society. This presentation also introduces past exhibitions and outreach activities conducted by NICT using Dagik Earth.
