Many overseas visitors cite anime as their initial spark of interest in Japan. This is also frequently observed among those in the planetarium industry. For the planetarium industry, which has actively used anime, appropriately introducing it from a hospitality perspective is significant.

Keeping in mind that separate sessions will feature screenings of the latest full-dome anime works from production and distribution companies, as well as talks by prominent figures, this session will revisit and examine the relationship between planetariums and anime/related fields through more intimate, diverse, and specialized perspectives that might otherwise be overlooked in broader discussions.

For example:
- Its unique ability to deeply engage with comprehensive education spanning science to art
- The candid realities of facilities operating dome-equipped venues, the perspective of grassroots anime fans, and attempts to utilize anime for regional revitalization through mascot characters and pilgrimages to sacred sites. We will introduce the current state of Japanese anime, which has already been established as a medium over time, while also considering where the future use of anime in planetariums might head amidst the societal changes brought by the generative AI boom and the Singularity.

We envision a roughly 10-meter dome utilizing full-sky projection for a session lasting about two hours. Participation is encouraged not only from the planetarium industry but also from anime fans. We are currently seeking input from various stakeholders and coordinating the implementation details.Moderator: Shinji Toyomasu
