Take a trip into the future of planetariums as immersive spaces focusing on STEM education, examining trends and opportunities for funding, extending engagement and using technology to do more with less.
We will explore how open source and low-cost technology, inexpensive hardware, consumer-level products and a lot of ingenuity can help you deliver meaningful content that inspires and empowers audiences to engage with STEAM.
We will get hands-on with AI focusing on image generation, 3D modelling and language models to inspire ourselves with how this technology can be integrated into your workflow meaningfully, legally and ethically to help push the projects you want to deliver but can't afford to pursue.
Finally, we'll take a look at funding - trends in STEM, alternative funding sources/models and ways to effectively communicate to funders the value in STEM education.
This workshop includes guided collaborative discussion – so bring your ideas and we’ll collate them as a resource for us all.
While this workshop focuses on planetariums, it has wider applications in public STEM education.
