Planetariums are rapidly evolving beyond astronomy classrooms into multi-sensory environments for art, wellness, and transformational experiences.

This workshop introduces participants to the emerging field of sound-driven experiential design, demonstrating how ancient instruments, psychoacoustics, cinematic visuals, and narrative arcs can be integrated to create deeply immersive full-dome journeys.

The session explores how specific sound frequencies, harmonics, and spatial audio shape perception, attention, and emotional states. Participants will learn how to design contemplative or healing-oriented experiences using elemental frameworks and nature-inspired visual storytelling.

Practical techniques for synchronizing breath, binaural entrainment, and full-dome imagery will be shared, along with best practices for presenting meditative programming in public planetariums.

Topics Include:
- How sound frequencies influence perception and emotional regulation
- Integrating ancient instruments (Tibetan bowls, rattles, whistling pots) with dome visuals
- Crafting narrative structures using the 5 Elements
- Methods for spatialized audio, entrainment, and breath synchronization
- Live sound demonstration + guided creative practicum
- Best practices for designing wellness-oriented dome programs

Participants will collaborate to co-create a short immersive sequence, gaining practical tools they can adapt within their own work or institutions.

Optional Combined Format:
This workshop can also be presented alongside a full screening of QUALIA (45 minutes), followed by focused design analysis and Q&A. Total duration can be adapted to IPS scheduling needs.

Workshop Leader:
