[WS9-01]Control Freaks: Designing Interactive Dome Experiences Using Blender
*Amy Barraclough1 (1. Edelman Planetarium at Rowan University (USA))
キーワード:
3d models、Blender、Custom controls
The Edelman Planetarium team created a custom control panel to highlight the components of the Mars 2020 rover, Perseverance, on the dome for an in-depth exploration with our audiences. We'll walk you through the steps we took to create our custom control panel for live presentations.
Participants in this workshop will learn how to:
1. Locate 3d spacecraft models;
2. Separate models into parts;
3. Import for use in planetarium domes.
We used Blender and Digistar 7 to create our custom control panel, but the workshop applies to any digital planetarium system. Familiarity with Blender is a plus, but not necessary for this workshop—no 3D modeling experience needed.
Requested time: 30 minutes
Classroom or auditorium set-up with access to a flatscreen projector.
Speaker: Amy Barraclough, Director, Edelman Planetarium
We do not have a preferred maximum number of participants, as this will be a detailed walk-through of our process in creating custom planetarium content. It is not a hands-on workshop, so we do not require a computer lab.
