[1-IS-5]Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) in Taiwan

Dr. Chan is the Superintendent of National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) Bei-Hu Branch, attending physician of the department of geriatrics and gerontology, and clinical professor of internal medicine at NTUH. His research interests include frailty, sarcopenia, osteoporosis, and drug-related problems. Since leading the establishment of Taiwan’s first Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) program in 2014, he has played a key role in expanding the national FLS network and promoting secondary fracture prevention. He contributed to the Asia-Pacific FLS consensus statement, served as Co-Chair of the Asia Pacific Fragility Fracture Alliance, and actively participated in initiatives of the International Osteoporosis Foundation. In 2024, he was appointed Vice Chair of Fragility Fracture Network (FFN) Taiwan, and in 2025, he was elected Treasurer of the FFN.
