本シンポジウムにおいては、陸域と海洋の相互作用について、双方からの相互影響について広く議論をすることを目的とする。海洋から陸域への影響については主にENSO/IODが起因すると考えられる水文気象災害やその予測手法について、また陸域から海洋へは、森・川・海を連なる一連の物質・生態系レベルでの連携について様々な分野からの研究紹介と総合討論によって、今後進めるべき学際的研究の方向について議論する。
