In this paper, I share the results of my attempts to use perceptual hash generation to turn still images into ML-usable features to predict the performance of Display Ads, in conjunction with other assets. Though the approach does provide several benefits and produces features that are at least partially learnable, the results show that, at least in the configurations I was able to explore, they do not individually contain enough information to provide accurate predictions.
