Spin waves are studied for a novel data transport medium. In homogeneous magnetic materials, spin wave band structures are limited by material parameters. However, in one-dimensional magnonic crystals (MC) with periodic barriers, spin wave propagation can be selectively controlled, creating band gaps. The relationship between MC structure and band gap characteristics is not fully understood. This study uses micromagnetic simulations to investigate how periodic wall width affects spin wave band structure. We calculated spin wave propagation in MC with various wall width. Our results show that the first band gap's central frequency increases with the wall width, and the band width are maximized at the wall width of 1.0 um. Additionally, the second band gap varied periodically with the wall width. We will present a detailed analysis of the wall width dependence and band structure interpretation will be presented.
