[17p-A25-11] Mode Switching in Few-Mode Fibers Using Electric Field Controlled Dynamic Offset Coupling

We demonstrate the transition between several linearly polarized modes in a few-mode fiber using an all-fiber cantilever beam deflection arrangement. By introducing controlled perturbations in launching conditions, we achieved mode switching. The fiber, coated with BiFe_0.9Co_0.1O₃, was tested within an electric field to validate the technique. We also developed a theoretical model to estimate the launching conditions for the excited mode.
