An optical racetrack resonator functions as a selective bandpass filter, allowing certain wavelengths to pass through them, while blocking others, improving signal clarity and efficiency in optical communication systems. Its industrial applications include dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems for telecommunications, which enable high-speed data transfer across fiber optic networks. Furthermore, optical racetrack resonators are utilized in photonic integrated circuits to achieve precise filtering and signal processing, which is essential for enhanced sensing and healthcare applications. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the ring radius on the Quality factor. Therefore the ring radius is varied as 1um, 2um, 5um, and 10um, which reveals that there is a blue shift in the graph, as well as an increase in symmetry and a decrease in (Full Width at Half Maximum) FWHM and (Finite Spectral Range) FSR. Although this study found that theoretically, ring radius has no substantial effect on Q-factor.
