We report on the optical anisotropy of perovskite nanocrystals (PeNCs) self-assembled monolayer. Surface chemical groups on the substrate were controlled using aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APS) and octadecyl trimethoxysilane (ODS). Angle-resolved absorption and photoluminescence (PL) of the monolayer on APS-treated substrates showed energy shifts, indicating anisotropic electronic states. In contrast, substrates treated with ODS exhibited no angle dependence, suggesting the absence of anisotropy. We combined measurements of the angular intensity profile of the p-polarized emission with optical simulations. It revealed that the monolayer on APS-treated substrates, with almost 100% coverage, exhibited anisotropic emission with a transition dipole moment (TDM) orientation factor of 0.65 (refractive index 1.824). This suggests that the TDM aligns more vertically when APS is used. The amino group of APS perturb a facet of PeNCs that faces the substrate, leading to the anisotropic emission.
