Simply stacking magnetic and thermoelectric materials can realize a large transverse thermopower. Through formulating the transport properties of a magnetic / thermoelectric bilayer, significant enhancement of transverse thermopower is found under an optimal thickness ratio, which is well reproduced in experiment. These results shed light on a novel and powerful approach to develop materials for transverse thermoelectric applications.
