This presentation reviews recent advances in THz biophotonics enabled by point THz source technology. Representative applications include high-resolution label-free imaging of biological tissues and micro-organs, such as breast cancer tissues and cochlear structures, as well as three-dimensional THz imaging. In addition, the integration of localized THz fields with metamaterial structures has enabled highly sensitive biosensing of minute sample volumes and biological fluids. These developments highlight the potential of point THz source technology as a versatile platform for next-generation biomedical imaging, sensing, and diagnostic applications.
