We demonstrate a thermally controlled all-polarization-maintaining (all-PM) Sagnac filter and its application in a wavelength-tunable mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser. The filter is formed by cross-splicing the output ports of a 3-dB coupler to create a PM-fiber loop with an 18-cm length imbalance. Thermal tuning enables a continuous shift of the transmission peak over a wavelength range exceeding 30 nm. Incorporated into an all-PM mode-locked fiber laser, the filter provides continuous wavelength tuning from 1543 nm to 1574 nm with a tuning efficiency of −0.83 nm/°C. In addition, dual-wavelength mode-locked operation is demonstrated. The proposed approach offers a simple, robust, and low-loss solution for wavelength-tunable ultrafast fiber lasers.
