A dual-tone frequency modulation technique for generating an optical frequency comb (OFC) is proposed and evaluated through simulation. A continuous-wave laser operating at 193.1 THz is modulated using combined RF signals at 16 GHz and 32 GHz, each with a 180° phase shift. The proposed system produces a stable OFC featuring 70 spectral lines with a power fluctuation of merely 1.8 dB. Following propagation through 100 km of standard single-mode fiber, the interplay between chromatic dispersion and four-wave mixing is examined. The described method provides a straightforward and effective pathway to flat, broadband comb generation suitable for wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) and nonlinear optics applications.
