We report time-resolved soft X-ray absorption measurements of nitric oxide at both the nitrogen and oxygen K-edges using a high-harmonic-generation source driven by a high-power optical parametric chirped-pulse amplifier. The transient spectra show the formation of NO+ ions and a decrease in the neutral NO induced by strong-field ionization. These measurements demonstrate the capability of core-level spectroscopy to track ultrafast dynamics in oxygen-containing systems using a tabletop light source.
