Presently, the rise in conflicts and terrorist attacks, there is a considerable need for ballistic protection in the defence sectors. Body armor has seen significant use in recent years within the field of ballistics to saved many lives during combat and counter-terrorism operations. In this study, kevlar/basalt hybrid filled epoxy composite with projectile has been developed using ANSYS-25R1 workbench. Equivalent elastic strain and maximum principle elastic strain were both performed for examining strain distribution, matrix cracking, failure and delamination. The result showed that equivalent elastic strain for kevlar/basalt hybrid filled epoxy is 1.7598. Therefore, kevlar/basalt hybrid filled epoxy composite show that higher maximum principle strain and elastic strain means they provide higher impact strength and absorb strain energy effectively. The results shows that combined effect of kevlar/basalt hybrid filled epoxy provided a better strain distribution and capable of better strength armors compared to epoxy only.
