[9a-A22-3]Multilayer-Coated Probes for Near-Field Response Control in TERS: A Computational Study

We numerically examine the use of Au/Al2O3 multilayer coatings to control the near-field spectral response of SiO2-based TERS probes at common laser excitation wavelengths used in TERS, namely, 633, 785 and 1064 nm. Our simulations show that a multilayer-coated probe has a more uniform, albeit lower, enhancement at these wavelengths as compared to a Au-only coated probe with similar geometry. These results suggest the potential of using multilayer-coated probes for multi-wavelength TERS applications.
